About Me

I’m Tashwania Buchanan, a 22-year-old creative currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts and Technology. I am driven by a deep love for media, storytelling, and meaningful communication that has the power to inspire young people to believe in themselves and their purpose.

My journey has been shaped by both leadership and resilience. I am a six-time pageant participant, earning recognition as a Top 10 finalist in Miss Jamaica World and placing 3rd in the Beach Beauty category. Beyond the stage, I proudly served as a National Youth Parliamentarian of Jamaica, representing Kingston West Central, where I used my voice to advocate for youth empowerment and social change.

Creativity is my refuge. I process life’s challenges through cooking and poetry, transforming pain into expression and healing. In honor of my late grandfather, Leopold Nelson, I founded a food blog called “Wania Kitchen,” a space where culture, memory, and storytelling come together through food.

At the core of everything I do is purpose. Whether through media, advocacy, or creative expression, I strive to create work that is authentic, impactful, and rooted in connection. My goal is to build a career that blends communication with compassion, telling stories that matter and uplifting voices that deserve to be heard.
